Radhika Aggarwal along with her husband Sandeep Aggarwal and Sanjay Seth co-founded ShopClues, one of India’s largest e-commerce marketplaces in terms of merchants in 2012. One of the newest entrants into the unicorn club -- an exclusive club of start-ups valued at over a billion dollars -- what really sets ShopClues apart from the other e-commerce players is the fact that it is on track to be profitable in 2017. According to Aggarwal, the strategy was clear from the very beginning -- they weren’t going after growth at any cost but would instead stay focused on profitability. ShopClues clocked a gross merchandise value (GMV) of $1.2 billion in FY16 and the aim is to more than double that figure to $3 billion by the end of FY17. Aggarwal is most proud of the fact that they have managed to scale up the business successfully with the least amount of capital and they aim to list the firm on the bourses in two years.
